Empowering Girls for Empowering Careers

   Advocacy, Training

Funded by:

   International Visegrad Fund

The project goal is to empower girls aged 18-25 in Kosovo, giving priority to young girls and communities such as Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptians, by providing them with digital skills and career mentoring sessions.

By addressing the lack of digital skills, the project seeks to prepare girls for employment opportunities in the digital era. Further, it aims to raise awareness about the importance of digital skills for all, promoting gender equality and inclusive economic empowerment.

The project’s primary goal is to concentrate on the high rate of unemployment among youth in Kosova, particularly girls. They face many barriers and gender-based discrimination in accessing employment opportunities. Additionally, there is a lack of digital skills, which further hinders opportunities for employment and professional development in the digital age. Hence, by combining digital skills and mentoring opportunities, the project aims to enhance the employability of girls in Kosovo. The collaboration with partner organizations and the comparative analysis of Visegrad countries’ experiences further enriches the project’s potential for success and allows for the exchange of best practices.

Activities that this project will carry are:

Digital Skills Enhancement:
We aim to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among the participants, encouraging them to pursue innovative ventures in the digital realm, through training and equipping girls aged 18-25 with essential digital skills to thrive in the digital age. Provide participants with practical skills that are in high demand in the job market, increasing their employability.

Mentoring Program:
Build confidence and motivation among the participants by providing them with role models and access to valuable insights from the mentors, through developing a mentoring program for the project beneficiaries, connecting them with experienced professionals. Enhance the participants’ professional development by facilitating networking opportunities and career advice.

This project is financed by the International Visegrad Fund, implemented by the Kosova Center for Digital Education, together with project partners, Aj Ty v IT (Slovakia), Stowarzyszenie Cyfrowy Dialog (Poland), and Konnekt Egyesület (Hungary).
